Aircraft Rescue & Firefighting (ARFF)

Walla Walla Regional Airport offers Index A (with Index B ARFF Vehicles) Aircraft Rescue and Firefighting (ARFF) for all scheduled, commercial air flight operations. The ARFF Department is located near the mid-point of the aviation ramp area. Walla Walla Regional Airport contracts this service out to Walla Walla County Fire District #4. District #4 provides coverage 15-minutes before and 15-minutes after each scheduled, commercial airline flight. Yearly, each firefighter attends an accredited ARFF school (FAA Part 139 Certified) for intensive training and drills related to aircraft emergencies. In addition, the District provides support for all other incidents/emergencies on the airfield and within the airport industrial park.
